PETER OSTRUM – VETERINARIAN

Peter Ostrum’s sole project in Hollywood was the classic 1971 motion picture Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Charlie Bucket. When Ostrum was selected as Willy Wonka by the talent agent, he was only 12 years old. Although he thought that making movies was a very interesting and attractive thing, he refused the following contract and decided to return to normal life.

After filming the film, he developed a huge fascination with animals, specifically horses. This passion for animals and his pursuit for a degree in Veterinary were greatly influenced by vets who are working near the set where they shot the film. After contemplating for a bit, Ostrum realized that acting might not be his cup of tea and wasted no time in his studies. He’s currently practicing and living in New York with his family and his beloved animals.
